The overdose-reversing drug Naloxone saves lives, but only if it’s readily available when an overdose occurs. The City of York Bureau of Health, York/Adams Drug and Alcohol Commission, and York Opioid Collaborative continue to distribute Naloxone. Individuals can pick up Narcan and receive brief training on how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose. The monthly distribution events in November and December 2023 will be cancelled.

The City of York will be holding an appreciation event for the funders of the recent relandscaping of Cherry Lane. The event will take place at noon on Tuesday, October 24 in Cherry Lane.
The City of York Mayor’s Office, along with York City’s Bureau of Health, and in partnership with WellSpan York Hospital, will be hosting a press conference for National Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Awareness Month on Monday, October 16, at City Hall Council Chambers, beginning at 1:00 P.M.
On March 11, 2021, President Biden signed the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA) into law. The $1.9 trillion Fiscal Recovery Funds package is intended to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, including public health and economic impacts.
