Due to a continuing downgrade in weather patterns, the City of York is recommending that neighborhood trick or treating be postponed until Friday, November 1, 2019, from 6pm to 8pm, unless your neighborhood has a specific alternate date and time.
The National Weather Service is calling for thunderstorms and wind gusts of up to 35 mph. Families wishing to avoid the inclement weather on Halloween night, October 31st, are welcomed to attend the indoor trick or treat event at Saint Matthew’s Church (839 W. Market St) from 6pm to 7:30pm. This is a City of York endorsed event, which will take place at the gym of the church, accessible through the youth center doors on the east side of the building.
For families residing in the east end of the city, there will also be another trick or treat event organized by Saint Mark’s Lutheran Church (700 E. Market St.) from 6pm to 8pm, which will move indoors If necessary due to weather conditions.
