At approximately 12:45pm on Tuesday, August 13th a foamy substance was identified at the City of York Wastewater Treatment Plant. At approximately 5:45pm on Tuesday our Pretreatment Permit & Compliance Manager was able to identify the source of the foamy substance.
This substance did not originate from the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection has been notified. Due to the nature of the investigation we will have no further comment at this time.
