  • MEETING NOTICE

    All regular meetings of City Council are held at 6:00pm unless another time is designated. Notice of meeting cancellations will be posted on the city’s website events calendar. Please contact the City Clerk at 717-849-2246 or dthompso@yorkcity.org to confirm meeting information.

    York City Council meetings are streamed live on the City’s Facebook pageWRCT’s Youtube Channel, and broadcast live on Xfinity WRCT Channel 18 or online at www.wrct.tv.  An archive of past meetings can be found here.

    Residents wishing to comment for the record must attend the meeting in person.

    General comments to be shared with Council off the record may be emailed to the City Clerk at dthompso@yorkcity.org or call (717) 849-2246.

All regular meetings of City Council are held in Council Chambers, 101 S. George St., York, PA, on the first and third Tuesday evening of each month at 6:00 PM, except when such Tuesday is a legal holiday observed by the City Government, summer recess, or when the general and/or primary elections fall on such Tuesday, then the regular meeting will be held on the following day or at such other day as the Council shall designate.

General Public Comment – Begins at 6:00 p.m. with Council’s legislative session immediately following public comment which shall occur no later than 6:30 p.m.

Council Committee meetings are held in Council Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on the fourth Wednesday of each month unless another date/time is advertised. No committee meetings are held during the months of June, July, August or December.

In an effort to create format and allow productivity of Council meetings, Council has adopted a set of Rules and Procedures which shall govern Council meetings. Upon calling the meeting to order, the presiding officer may explain the need to sign up for the comment period and ask if all those wishing to address the Council had an opportunity to sign up. Each speaker shall have five- (5) minutes to speak, however, the presiding officer may reduce the time limit down to three- (3) minutes if the number of speakers who have signed up would extend the time period beyond the thirty- (30) minutes scheduled for public comment. The Council President may resume public comment after adjourning Council’s legislative meeting.
