The City of York Human Relations Commission invites all to attend this year’s Diversity Event and fundraiser: Friday, April 25, 2024, 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm at the York County History Center, 121 N Pershing Ave.
The event will involve networking and dinner. The keynote speaker is Dr. Miguel De La Torre, Professor of Social Ethics and Latinx Studies at Iliff School of Theology in Denver, Colorado. He is an international scholar, documentarian, novelist, academic author, and scholar activist The theme is “Finding Hope in the Midst…,” a relevant conversation in times of uncertainty.
The Human Relations Commission is vested with the authority to administer and enforce the antidiscrimination ordinance of the City of York and may initiate, receive, investigate, and adjudicate complaints charging unlawful discriminatory practices. The Human Relations Commission strives to provide a safe, non-judgmental space in order to promote public health, safety, general welfare, and the best interests of our citizens by assuring equal opportunities, in addition to safeguarding their right to public accommodation, secure housing, and equal employment in accordance with their fullest capacities regardless of their protected class.
