Changes to Traffic Patterns in Light of Social Demonstration and Ballot Collections

Today the City of York announces changes to traffic patterns on Tuesday, June 2nd to support the efficient collection of election ballots and to ensure the safe gathering of demonstrators during the evening’s planned demonstration.

From 7:30am until 4:00pm the right lane of E. Market Street between George Street and Duke Street will be reserved for the collection of election ballots at the York County Administrative Center, 28 E. Market Street.

From 4:00pm until 7:00pm N. George Street between Market Street and Philadelphia Street will be closed to motorists to ensure pedestrian safety during the planned social demonstration occurring from 5:00pm-6:30pm.

The planned demonstration will primarily be located in the North East corner of York’s Continental Square.

By order of the York County Sheriff’s Office, demonstrators may not congregate on the steps of the York County Judicial Center located at 45 N. George Street.
