March Historical Architectural Review Board Cancelled

The City of York announces that the Historical Architectural Review Board (HARB) Meeting for March 24, 2022, has been cancelled. The City’s Permits Office did not receive any applications requiring HARB review since their last meeting. HARB’s next regularly scheduled meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 14, 2022.

Curbside Yard Waste Collections Resume Tuesday, March 1st

Weather permitting, York City curbside customers may begin to place yard waste at their designated pick-up point for collection on their normal recycling day, beginning Tuesday, March 1st.

Arrival of New Fire Engines for The City of York

On Thursday February 24, 2022, City of York Department of Fire Rescue Services will be accepting delivery of two new E-One fire engines. The twin fire engines will be delivered to Fire Station 2, at 273 W. Market St., at 10:00 a.m. They are 2021 and 2022 E-One Typhoon pumper engines, which have been specified by YCFD members to enhance the department and best serve the community.

City of York to Resume In-Person Operations

Mayor Michael Helfrich is pleased to announce that considering the recent decrease in COVID-19 caseloads, York City Hall will reopen and resume in-person operations with the public on Monday, February 28th.

CANCELLED: Narcan Distribution Event on Tuesday, February 22 at City of York Bureau of Health

Despite the decline in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, the level of community transmission in York County remains HIGH (Source: CDC). To continue to protect our residents, the City of York Bureau of Health and partners have decided to cancel the monthly Narcan distribution event on Tuesday, February 22, 2022. The next regularly scheduled monthly event will continue the 4th Tuesday of each month in March.

The City of York announces to residents and visitors that there will be no street sweeping on the morning of Friday, February 4th, between 7:15 a.m. and 11:45 a.m., due to the expected sleet and freezing rain forecast for the day.

York City Trash Collections Will Start 5 AM Friday 2/4/22

Due to the expected sleet and freezing rain forecast for Friday afternoon and hazardous driving conditions, the City of York announces to curbside customers in the Tuesday/Friday pick up area that collections will begin one hour early at 5 a.m. on Friday 2/4/22.
