As we begin the winter season of 2022-2023, the City of York snow emergency team wants to remind businesses of some of the York City Snow Emergency Regulations Specifically, as they apply to plowing of private parking lots and the disposal of snow. These regulations have been enacted for the safety and protection of the driving public as well as residential, business, and industrial citizens in York City.
Due to the Thanksgiving Day holiday, Thursday, November 24th, ALL regular curbside trash collections on Thursday and Friday will be delayed one (1) day.
The City of York’s Yard Waste Drop-off site will be closed for winter, January through March, and will reopen, weather permitting, on the first Saturday of April 2023.
Many York City residents are suffering from Arthritis, a painful condition that not only affects quality of life but also has the potential of having dire health consequences. In fact, the CDC reports that 289,839 York residents have Arthritis. To help combat this issue, the YMCA of the Roses (formally the York YMCA), is hosting a walking and stretching program.
In partnership with the York City Bureau of Health, the YMCA of the Roses is implementing the Arthritis Foundation’s Walk with Ease program, a six-week evidence-based program that increases participants’ mobility and decreases pain from Arthritis.
