2012 Events

Annual Fishing Derby at Kiwanis Lake

WHO: Children ages 15 and under and their parents

WHAT: 14th Annual Fishing Derby

WHEN: Saturday, March 31, 2012- 8:00 am to 12:00 noon

WHERE: Kiwanis Lake

The York City Recreation and Parks Bureau, Izaak Walton League, and Gander Mountain , invite all youth in the community, ages 15 and younger, to the Annual Fishing Derby. The event is free and is held rain or shine.

Izaak Walton League and the PA Fish Commission will stock Kiwanis Lake with trout for the opening day of Trout Season. York’s Helping Hand for the Homeless will provide a free lunch for all youth.

Come out for a day of fun at Kiwanis Lake. Arrive early for registration!

37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

WHO: Children Ages 8 and younger

WHAT: 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt

WHEN: Saturday, March 31st, 2012 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

WHERE: Kiwanis Lake/Farquhar Park

The City of York’s 37th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled to be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Kiwanis Lake/Farquhar Park. Rain date will be Sunday, April 1, 2012 from 3 p.m to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

2012 Summer Parks & Playgrounds Day Camp

When: June 25th - August 2nd
Monday-Thursday, 10:00 am to 3:00 pm
Ages: 6-13
Cost: City Residents - $25.00/summer, Non-City Residents - $120/summer
Park Locations: Albemarle, Allen, Lincoln, and Thackston
Activities: Swimming, Roller-skating, Arts and Crafts, Movies, Bowling
