Citizen Police Academy

York City Police Department -  Citizen Police Academy

February 24, 2015 - Registration is still open for the upcoming York City Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy. Academy members will meet every Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm, starting March 24, 2015 and ending on Tuesday, April 28, 2015, with graduation.

Each training date will have a new topic and lots of interaction between class members and instructors. Most of the classes will take place at the newly remodeled York City Police Station. But there will be some offsite tours, at the County Control 911 Center and the Police Heritage Museum. Each class member will have an opportunity to learn about the role of the York City Police Department and the organization’s structure. Many of the Department’s law enforcement and crime prevention units will be presented.

The Citizen police Academy is open to the public and there is no charge but you must be registered. Registration forms can be found on the City of York’s website,


or the Police Station, 50 W. King Street, York, PA.

Deadline for all registrations will be March 17, 2015
