Pamper Me Healthy Day (2011)

For a third year in a row, the Health Bureau was awarded with funding from John Snow, Inc. to put on an event during National Women's Health Week. On May 12, 2011, the Health Bureau held an event called Pamper Me Healthy Day. There were a total of 83 people in attendance. The event consisted of exercise demonstrations and presentations that participants registered for in advance (demo-Zumba or Tai Chi; presentation-Diabetes or Heart Health). Pamper Me Healthy Day also involved a health fair, healthy lunch, door prizes, and ended with participant evaluations.

We feel that this was a wonderful event and according to the surveys, the majority of the participants had an excellent time.

If you participated in this event, we hope you enjoyed yourself! If you did not get the chance to participate, we hope you will keep our National Women's Health Week event in mind for next year!

Women's Walks (2009 & 2010)

For the past 2 years (2009 & 2010), the York City Bureau of Health has been awarded with a grant through John Snow Inc. to put together an event during National Women's Health Week. The Health Bureau was awarded with $2500 each of those years.

On May 14, 2010 the Health Bureau held their 2nd Annual Women's Walk, it was called York Walks for Women's Health, was an even bigger success. We had 116 paritipants at this event. Please see photos below from this event.

On May 13, 2009, the Health Bureau held an event called 200 Walk for Women. For our first year, we thought it was a great turn out. We would like to thank our former Mayor, John S. Brenner, for doing a Proclamation for National Women's Health Week in York. Please check out the photos below from the walk.

We would like to thank everyone that has been a part of our events in any way. We really appreciate all of your help with making our events so successful! All the hard work by the dedicated staff at the Health Bureau surely pays off.
