Make It A Healthy Happy Thanksgiving Day
 
It’s almost hard to believe that it’s Thanksgiving time again. This is the perfect holiday to spend time catching up with family and friends, but to enjoy some of the best comfort food around. If you’re worried at all about what to do to maintain your progress, here are some suggestions to keep you focused, healthy, and happy during this holiday season.
  • Keep up with your same exercise routine. Resist the urge to divert from your physical activity schedule and keep moving. If you’re gym happens to be closed during the holiday, pop in some exercise DVD’s or engage in your physical activity in the great outdoors. There are several York City Parks that are a great atmosphere for recreation. Trust me….your body will thank you!
 
  • Focus on weight maintenance. Try not to get hung up on loosing weight and strive to maintain your weight during this time. This may alleviate some stress and keep you focused on the more important aspects of the holiday, family and friends.
 
  • Eat Your Breakfast. We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. During the holidays, this is a meal that is sometimes forgotten about, especially if you are the host or have plans on waking up later than usual. Forgetting to eat breakfast can lead to overeating. To combat this urge, make sure you eat your breakfast, even if it’s just a piece of fruit.
 
  • Make some healthy dishes. If you happen to be a guest for the holiday or even you if you are the host, make a healthy dish for your family and friends to enjoy and maybe you can keep it a secret that you’ve made some healthy changes to the recipe. If not, look at it as an opportunity to share your quest to being a healthier and happier you and encourage your friends and family to enjoy some of your tastiest healthy food creations.
