STREET CLOSINGS AND TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
 
SUNDAY, AUGUST 2, 2015
 
On Sunday, August 2, 2015, Equality Fest and Royal Square Development will be sponsoring a street festival block party.   As a result, the 100 block of E. King St will be closed to vehicular traffic between the hours of 10:00am and 6:00pm.
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event. 
 
On Sunday, August 2, 2015, the Shiloh Baptist Church will be sponsoring a cook-out in Bantz Park from 10am until 5pm.  As a result, Salem Ave will be closed to vehicular traffic from Belvidere Ave to Hawthorne St from 11am until 6pm.  There will be no parking restrictions for this event.
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event.  
 
TUESDAY, AUGUST 4, 2015 
 
On Tuesday Night, August 4, 2015, The City of York will be hosting National Night Out against crime.  Community block parties are scheduled throughout the City with varied times ranging from 3:30pm until 9pm.
 
The following streets will be closed to vehicular traffic:
200 block of E. College Ave., closed from 5p-8p
First block of N. Broad St., closed from 4p-8p
First block of S. Penn St., closed from 3:30p-9p
100 Block of N. Pine St., 5p-8p
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending these events.  
 
 
 
FRIDAY AUGUST 7, 2015
 
On Friday, August 7, 2015, the City will be sponsoring its monthly “First Friday” which will run from 5pm until 9pm.  North Beaver St. between Market and Philadelphia Sts. will be closed to vehicular traffic from 4:30 until 9:30pm and parking will be prohibited from 3:30pm until 9:30pm
 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending these events.  

 

On Friday, August 7, 2015, Royal Square will be sponsoring “First Friday in Royal Square.”   From 4:30pm until 9:30pm., the 100 block of S. Duke St. will be closed to vehicular traffic.  Additionally, Parking in that block will be prohibited during those same hours.

SATURDAY, AUGUST 15TH 
 
 
On Saturday, August 15, 2015 Grace fellowship Church/York Regional Dream Center will be hosting a Block party for residents of Salem Square.  This will take place in the 100 block of S. West St. from 10am until 4pm.  As a result, this roadway will be closed to vehicular traffic during those hours and parking will be prohibited.
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event.  
 
 
On Saturday, August 15, 2015, the York Academy will be sponsoring a 5K Run which will start on N. Beaver St., alongside of their school at 32 W. North St.  The race will continue west on Gay St to Pershing Ave and then onto the Rail Trail where the participants will run to Grantley St, turn around and run back to the school along the same route.  As a result, Officers will be positioned along the cross streets to assist the runners pass through traffic.  Officers will be on Phila St., Market St., King St., Princess St and at Kings Mill Rd. 
 
N. Beaver St between North St. and Phila St. will be closed to vehicular traffic between 7:30am and 9:30am for this event as will the first block of W. North St., and the first two blocks of N. Pershing Ave.
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event. 
 SATURDAY, AUGUST 22ND  
 
On Saturday, August 22, 2015, True Bread Community Church located at 260 Lafayette St. will be hosting a Back to School Community Day Block Party.  The event is scheduled from 11am until 4pm on Lafayette St in front of their church.  As a result, Lafayette St. between manor and Kings Mill Rd. will be closed to vehicular traffic during that time period.
