TRAFFIC ADVISORY

SUNDAY OCTOBER 19TH

 

On Sunday, October 19, 2014, The York County Heritage Trust will be hosting their 40th Annual Oysterfest at the Agricultural and Industrial Museum located at 217 W. Princess St.   The event begins at 11:00am and runs to 4:00pm. Because of this event, W. Princess St will be closed to vehicular traffic between Pershing Ave and Oak Lane., from 7:00am until approximately 5:00pm.   Motorists should utilize W. Market St for westbound travel and W. King St for eastbound travel. 
 
Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event. 

 

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 26
STREET CLOSINGS AND TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
 
The York Revolution will be sponsoring this year’s annual Halloween Parade, which is Sunday, October 26, 2014. The parade which will begin at 2:00 PM. will be preceded by the “Angel Amble/Devil Dash 5K Run/Walk” which starts at 1:00pm in the Square. Runners/Walkers will leave the Square and head east to Broad St., where they will turn around and go west to Carlisle Ave where they will again turn around and head to the finish line back at the Square.
 
As scheduled, at 2:00pm, the Parade will exit the Madison Ave. gate of The York Expo Center. The parade will then travel south on Richland Ave. to Market St. The parade will then travel east on Market St. through downtown York to Broad St., where it will disband. Once the parade starts, there will be no traffic allowed to use or cross Market St. Eastbound traffic should use King St. Carlisle Ave. will be closed from Market St. to Highland Avenue. Motorists will be redirected to King Street via Highland Ave..   Also, Richland Ave. will be closed from Market St. to Carlisle Ave.  
 
There will be No Parking on the following streets starting at 11:00 PM on Sunday, October 26, 2014. All persons living along these routes must have their vehicles moved prior to this time.
 
Market St. from Richland Ave. to Fulton St.
Richland Ave. between Madison Ave. and Market St.
Carlisle Ave between Philadelphia and Market St.
Blk North and South Broad St.
  
VEHICLES PARKED ON THESE STREETS ARE SUBJECT TO TICKETING AND TOWING!!
 
Anyone traveling in these areas should use caution and expect delays.   As with any special event
In the city; NO DOGS OR BICYCLES ARE PERMITTED ALONG THE PARADE ROUTE.
