GO GREEN IN THE CITY OF YORK

 

On Saturday, April 19, 2014, The Shops on Beaver Street will be hosting an event entitled “Go Green in the City.” The event will start at 10:00AM and last until 3:00PM. The theme will be buying local and going green. In addition to the Central Market, the downtown shops in the first block of North Beaver Street will also be participating. The following streets will be closed during the event and posted “No Parking”:
 
Beaver Street from Market Street to Philadelphia Street, which will be closed beginning at 7:00am. And posted “No Parking” beginning at 5:00am.
 
 
All streets should be open to traffic by 4:00PM.
 
Motorists should expect minor delays and use caution in the area. Pershing Avenue and George Street should be used as alternate routes.

 

 RACE AGAINST RACISM

 
The Race against Racism will be held Saturday April 26, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. The race will begin in front of the Y.W.C.A. in the 300 Blk. E. Market St. and will affect the following streets as the race passes.
 
•           E. Market St. from Queen St. to Hartman St.
•           Hartman St. from E. Market St. to Hay St.
•           Hay St. from Hartman St. to Tremont St.
•           Tremont St. from Hay St. to Wallace St.
•           Wallace St. from Tremont St. to Mulberry St.
•           Mulberry St. from Wallace St. to Hay St.
•           Hay St. from Mulberry to State St.
•           State St. from Hay St. to Wallace St.
•           Wallace St. from State St. to Broad St.
•           Broad St. from Wallace St. to Chestnut St.
•           Chestnut St. from Broad St. to Pine St.
•           Pine St. from Chestnut St. to Market St.
 
There will be NO PARKING restrictions on E. Market St. from Pine St. to Homeway Ave. from 7:00 a.m.
to 11:00 a.m.
 
Anyone traveling in the area of this event should expect delays and use caution. Please obey all directions given by authorized personnel.
