FRIDAY APRIL 3, 2015

 

STREET CLOSINGS AND TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
 
 
On Friday, April 3, 2015, St. Mary’s Church will be conducting a “Good Friday, Living Stations of the Cross” procession.  A congregation from St. Mary’s will begin walking at 3:30pm from their church located at 309 S. George St., to South St to Queen St., to College Ave and returning back to the church on George St.  The procession will be escorted by the York City Police Dept. and these roads will be closed briefly as the procession makes its way along the route.   There will be no parking on S. George St. in front of the church between 3:00pm and 5:00pm.
 

Motorists are encouraged to exercise patience and use extra caution due to the large number of participants who will be attending this event.   

SUNDAY APRIL 12, 2015
STREET CLOSINGS AND TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
 
 
 On Sunday, April 12, 2015, The YMCA will be sponsoring the “Achiever’s Run”, which is a 5K race.  The race will begin at 255 W. King St and proceed to the Heritage Rail Trail.  Runners will continue along the trail to Jessop Place where they will leave the trail and run onto Kings Mill Rd., Lafayette St., to Lindberg Ave., to College Ave to Pershing Ave., Princess St., back on the rail Trail to King St and to the finish line at 255 W. King St.
 
As a result of this race, several roads will be closed from 8:00am until @ noon time.  The roadways effected are:
 
·         W. King St. at S. Newberry St
·         W. Princess St at S. Newberry St and at S. Pershing Ave.
·         Kings Mill Rd at Jessop Pl., Manor St., and Oak Ln.
·         Lafayette St. at S. Newberry St., Manor St., S. Pershing Ave. & Cleveland Ave.
·         Lindberg Ave at W. Charles Ave., W. South St. W. Church Ave. & College Ave
·         W. College at S. Beaver St and S. Pershing Ave
·         S. Pershing Ave at Lafayette St., Kings Mill Rd., W. Church Ave., W. College  Ave., W. Hope Ave.and W.        Princess St.
   
 

 

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the affected areas and use caution if travelling near the course of the race.
