Mayor Bracey to recognize Earth Hour

Mayor Bracey will recognize Earth Hour in the City of York on Thursday March 21st, 2013, at 1:30 pm at York City Hall – Council Chambers, 101 S. George Street, York, PA, encouraging residents to celebrate Earth Hour by turning off all non-essential lighting on March 23rd between 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm.

Earth Hour is a global movement celebrated by 152 countries, focused on uniting people to protect the planet, by bringing communities together from across the world to celebrate a commitment to the planet by switching off lights for one designated hour. Earth Hour encourages individuals, businesses, and governments to show leadership on environmental solutions through their actions. “Keeping our environment in good health, by focusing on environmentally safe alternatives in our community is an important step in reducing our carbon footprint,” states Mayor Bracey.
