Bike in York Week

What is Bike in York Week?

Bike in York Week (BIYW) is a subcommittee of Eat Play Breathe York's Transportation Task Force. Those who work and/or live in the City of York are encouraged to ride their bicycles throughout the City on temporary and permanent bike routes, as well as ride on the existing bike lane on King Street. The subcommittee also supports utilizing existing trails, such as the Greenway on Broad Street and the Rail Trail, to connect with both the temporary and permanent bike lanes. The aim of the week is to provide an environment that supports bicycling as a means of transportation by bringing awareness to safe and accessible routes.

Bike in York Week 2013

Bike in York Week will be May 13th-17th.

During this week, we encourage you to ride your bicycle throughout the York Community. We invite you to utilize the variety of bike amenities such as the bike lane on King St., the York County Heritage Rail Trail, and the Bicycle PA Route system. We also would like you to explore other modes of transportation such as mass transit and carpooling in an effort to create a healthier community. The individuals who ride 50 miles or more will be entered into a drawing to win gift cards to a local bike shop. Log your miles at the end of the week through a 5 questions survey at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FQ6WB9
